SEO Case Study: Accelerated Growth Through On-Page and Off-Page Optimization

In October 2024, I started collaborating with an eCommerce client whose site was long-established but had serious optimization problems. In just a few months, we managed to reposition the site and achieve visible results, both in terms of organic traffic and conversions.

Initial Context

The client had a site with authority, but the on-page aspect was neglected: unoptimized pages, brief descriptions, slow loading speed, and little content. In addition, previous link building campaigns were not properly managed, which led to negative signals from Google.

What We Did Specifically

On-page

From the very first modifications, the site underwent a significant repositioning. We then maintained the positive trend and constantly added new content. In addition to product optimization, we also developed a section for useful articles. These articles achieved excellent potential – some of them rank on the first two Google pages for 100-200 keyword combinations, which is a lot for a single article or page.

The products were also considerably improved: we optimized the images, rewrote the descriptions, and created much more complex variants compared to the initial ones. Furthermore, we revised the names of some products to fully leverage their real potential.

The categories and informational pages, where we had the greatest positioning growth, were clearly defined and optimized. Thus, Google understood that each page is dedicated to a certain group of keywords.

The site’s loading speed is a very important metric. By optimizing the images, we significantly reduced the loading time, which matters enormously for mobile visitors – over 85% of the total traffic.

Google Search Console helped us discover and correct several issues, including 404 pages. Even though there weren’t many, they were affecting the overall quality of the site.


Off-page

The off-page aspect is, most of the time, the most difficult because many avoid investing here, even though approximately 80% of an SEO campaign takes place outside the site. In this case, we had to remedy a previous, poorly executed link building campaign – with repeated links on the same sites, which attracted negative signals from Google.

We compensated by publishing monthly articles on different publications, which helped support the positions shown in the chart.

Daily activity on social media was also an important factor – new posts and user reactions represent a valuable metric for Google.


SEO & Ads Synergy

With the improvements made to the category and product structure, we also managed to optimize the Google Ads campaigns. We were able to highlight much more exact search terms, which led to an increase in the conversion rate.

Results

  • Visible growth in Google rankings, immediately following the first optimizations.
  • Blog articles generate valuable organic traffic, with hundreds of keywords per page.
  • Much better loading speed, which improved user experience and reduced the bounce rate.
  • Healthy and diversified link profile, with monthly support.
  • More profitable Google Ads campaigns, thanks to the SEO structure.

Conclusion

This case study shows how important an integrated SEO approach is, combining on-page, off-page, and paid media optimization. The results obtained confirm that when there is strategy and consistency, growth is sure to follow.
